No. 03 — How an order leaves the mill

From cherry to container.

Four stages, fully traceable. Every lot carries a stencil number that maps to a curing batch, a farmer co-operative and a Fairtrade premium line in the WAS ledger.

Stage 01

Field

Hand-picked at the right ripeness on member farms across Mananthavady, Panamaram, Pulpally and Sulthan Bathery. Receipt logged against the Wayanad Agricultural Society register.

Stage 02

Curing

Hulled (Spectrum, 15 t/hr), graded, sorted and de-stoned at Cherukattoor. Curing batch number stencilled onto each jute parcel before storage.

Stage 03

Quality

Moisture, density and (for ginger / turmeric) volatile-oil & curcumin checks. Buyer-side cupping sample drawn and dispatched ahead of the container.

Stage 04

Container

Loaded as 20'FCL or 40'FCL out of Cochin / Mangalore port. Fairtrade FLO 38806 documentation issued; customs & bill of lading attached.
